*Bilingual Instructors Needed*
POSITION SUMMARY:
Conduct group swim lessons for participants of all ages and abilities in the Aquatics Center at the Glenwood Springs Community Center following American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program curriculum.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepare lesson plans for group swim lessons. Gather, stage, and return necessary equipment. Instruct up to 6 participants per swim lesson independently. If provided, brief Swim Aide on lesson plan and actively involve Swim Aide in swim lesson. Maintain a safe and inviting learning environment for participants. Communicate with participants and parents/guardians of participants before and/or after swim lessons the information to be covered, any areas of excellence or needed improvement, and plans for the next swim lesson. Complete and provide achievement cards to participants at end of session. Distribute Program Feedback forms to participants or parents/guardians at end of session. Provide Aquatics Coordinator total number of successful, unsuccessful, and not evaluated participants at end of session. Positively interact with and provide exceptional customer service to the general public.

- Demonstrate the ability to perform front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, and butterfly.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS:
Necessary:
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
- Must have current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification, State Certified Teaching License, USA Swimming or American Swimming Coaches Association coach certification, or have 2 years verifiable swim instruction experience.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification but be obtained within 90 days of hire.
