    We are looking for a human resource professional to join our team in the Department of Corrections/Division of Human Services. This position will serve as the centralized resource for employees with regard to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and will be responsible for performing various duties in support of the administration of FMLA policy.

    Duties include:

    • Track monthly FMLA usage for Probation and Parole and DOC Central Office
    • Maintains DOC.FMLA Inbox
    • Sends reminders to employee’s that have requested FMLA and paperwork has not been returned
    • Sends denials to employee’s on paperwork that has not been returned by due date.
    • Work Parental Leave report.
    • Work Workers Compensation report.
    • Work 3 Day Sick Leave report.
    • Review request for FMLA.
    • Maintains correspondence with the Administrative Support Professional in the Employee Health, Safety Wellness unit regarding FMLA budget.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    One or more years of experience as an Administrative Support Assistant with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR

    Four or more years of office or related clerical experience; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

    (Training from an accredited vocational or business school in Office Management, Secretarial Science, or a closely related field may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours, or 480 clock hours, for one year.)

    (Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.)

    Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

    • Knowledge of SAM II HR preferred
    • Knowledge of State/Federal FMLA laws.
    • Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in processing employee requests.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, and pay attention to detail.
    • Ability to identify issues, resolve problems and improve processes.
    • Ability to handle stress and calmly deal with issues that arise.
    • Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
    • Computer skills.


    All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed.

    Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.

    The Department of Corrections is the only State agency that currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of service up to 20 years.
