    Central Investigations Unit

    Job Location: Division of Professional Registration, Central Investigations Unit, 3605 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109.

    The position will be responsible for assisting in monitoring inspection status and processing complaints received, including logging and disseminating to appropriate staff, preparing reports for managers, maintaining tracking systems and documentation. Candidates must have good, effective communication skills, be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, make routine decisions, organize workflow and establish priorities and deadlines.

    • Communicate within established guidelines with licensees regarding complaints received, monitoring responses, and preparing information for Chief Investigator review.
    • Enter appropriate information into licensure/complaint system and electronic excel logs.
    • Maintain current complaint documents in electronic format.
    • Respond in writing, email and phone to individuals calling the office in reference to the pending complaints and complaint processes.
    • Notify Chief Investigator of inspections which need assignment and assign to appropriate investigator.
    • Maintain and update records so that completed inspections reach the appropriate destination.
    • Maintain spreadsheet in reference to inspections completed.
    • Assist team in collecting court records.
    • Conduct inspections and investigations as assigned.
    • Some statewide day travel and some overnight travel is required.


    What we are looking for:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with specialization in criminal justice, law enforcement, criminology, business administration, social sciences or closely related areas; or
    • Four or more years of experience in a law enforcement, para-professional position or a position classified at the level of a Customer Service Representative or higher with experience in financial, civil, administrative or investigative activities.
    • (Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university in the areas of business or public administration may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience)
    • Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
