Adult & Family Services Assistant Division Director to join our dynamic and growing team! In this role you will use your knowledge of
Adult & Family Services to provide guidance and support to
Program Managers. The
Adult &Family Services Assistant Division Director will evaluate workload distribution and allocation of staffing to ensure the overall success of the program.
Your primary responsibilities will include: - Assists the Division Director in the management of the Economic and Social Services Division
- Provides strategic leadership and management of the Adult & Family Services programs, which include Energy Assistance, Child Care Subsidy, Work First,
Employment Services, Adult Protective Services, Guardianship and Adult and Community Services - Ensures compliance with federal, state and county regulations assuring that services are provided in a manner that results in positive outcomes for Wake
County citizens. Leads staff in the provision of services to ensure accessible, timely and accurate services.

About Our TeamWake County Health and Human Services (WCHHS) is the consolidation of programs and services that include social services, public health, job search assistance, child support, and transportation. The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Health or related field
- Five years of experience in Human Services, preferably in the area of employment
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer
- Seven (7) years of leadership experience in managing the daily operations of one or more Social Services programs (Medicaid, Energy, Childcare Subsidy, Food & Nutrition, etc.)
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Knowledge of Social Services program policy and regulations
- Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and/or in a team setting
- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Monitors/Assesses performance of oneself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
- Ability to lead and motivate staff
- Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system
- Advanced critical thinking and project management skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment in performing the duties of the position
