THE POSITION

The Health Services Manager, Sr. position oversees the Health Promotion and Community Wellness Bureau, as well as serves as the Director of Health Education to fulfill Title 17. This position oversees programs and activities related to prevention of substance use, including tobacco products; prevention of chronic diseases; prevention of injuries; and oral health treatment and prevention of dental carries. This position is responsible for building collaborative relationships within Health & Social Services and with community members.

The Public Health Bureau Chief for Health Promotion and Community Wellness (HP/CW) and the Health Education Director oversees a Bureau of about a dozen full-time and part-time employees; multiple programs and activities related to HP/CW; HP/CW budgets and expenditures; HP/CW contracts and scope of work plans; and builds internal and community partnerships to achieve program goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public or community health education or closely related field;

AND


Experience: Four years of experience managing, coordinating and/or supervising public healthcare or behavioral healthcare programs, of which one year was as a Health Service Program Manager or in an equivalent capacity.

SELECTION PROCESS

To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions.
