    Full-time position available with Health Department, Life Essential-Health Records Division located at 2400 Troost Ave
    Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs specialized professional, administrative and technical work managing a comprehensive health program.
    • Handles planning, financial administration, and personnel management in the direction of a variety of health-related projects, including federal grant-in-aid programs, related operational responsibilities.
    • Possesses knowledge of medical billing and coding functions.
    • Possesses working knowledge of working with insurance companies and credentialing providers.
    • Understands the legal issues around vital records and be willing to ensure staff is following Missouri law when disturbing records.
    • Exercises considerable initiative and broad independent judgment.
    • Oversees the Municpal ID (Fountain Card) program.
    • Supervises assigned staff and for the coordination of all assigned administrative work, including operations analysis, budget and personnel matters and operating rules and regulations.
    • Work accomplishments are reviewed and judged by the Division Manager through conferences, written reports, observation, and results achieved.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 6 (OR an accredited Master's degree and 4) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields; OR a High School Diploma and ten (10) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
