Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City, MO, 65109

    Why you’ll love this position:

Missouri is a leader in wastewater surveillance, a new tool for monitoring COVID-19 and potentially other pathogens that impact public health. In this position, you will be a part of a dynamic team and national network of individuals working together to establish and advance wastewater surveillance as an important indicator of the prevalence of illness/disease. You will manage grants and contracts that support Missouri's sewer shed surveillance program; oversee data flow, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination; and help to use the data to better understand and mitigate the presence and spread of COVID-19 and other pathogens in the state. You will love this position if you are a technically minded individual who enjoys transforming data into action, and you want to help improve and protect people’s health and quality of life. This position is in the Bureau of Environmental Epidemiology and is funded by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institutes of Health (NIH).

    What you’ll do:

    • Manage the sewer shed surveillance program
    • Coordinate, establish, maintain, and expand partnerships with federal, state, and local public health agencies, academic researchers, wastewater operators, and others.
    • Manage grants and contracts that support the sewer shed surveillance program
    • Oversee data flow, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination
    • Review and assist in interpretation of sewer shed surveillance data to inform public health decisions
    • Participate in and present at conference calls, meetings, and national conferences with federal, state, and local partners

    All you need for success:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in biological, physical, or environmental science and 4-6 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
