Why you’ll love this position:The Missouri One Start (MOS) Division provides recruitment, training, and upskilling assistance to Missouri businesses to meet their workforce needs. This important work creates greater opportunities for all Missourians to prosper! Currently, the MOS Division is seeking an Economic Development Specialist to join their team. This individual will primarily assist with programmatic aspects of the Intern and Apprentice Recruitment Act and Credential Training Program, including but not limited to assisting in reviewing, reimbursing, and monitoring program activities. Additionally, this individual will assist as necessary with the programmatic needs of the Customized Training, New Jobs Training, and Job Retention Training programs.
- Review program applications to ensure eligibility and all necessary documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with program requirements.
- Promote and maintain high-quality standards in the administration of MOS programs by actively participating in quality control efforts.
- Develop and maintain professional and open relationships with designated community colleges, Missouri businesses, partners, government officials, and local citizens to support program goals.
- Travel in-state as needed to assist with annual local education agency program record monitoring, offering hands-on support and guidance.
- Analyze business processes and work closely with colleagues to develop standardized forms and procedures to streamline workflows.
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance and maintaining professional responsibility.
- Represent MOS at various economic development meetings and conferences.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: -
- Five or more years of professional experience with demonstrated knowledge in the business practices and principles of economic development. This can be obtained through a combination of work experience and completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Community Development, Economic Development, or a closely related field.

- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable to change, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness when navigating shifting priorities and new challenges.
- Experience in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and requirements to support system design and business processes.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel and other data management tools, with the ability to analyze and present technical data effectively.
