Higginsville Habilitation Center is a state operated program within the Department of Mental Health. We are currently recruiting to fill a Food Service Assistant position in our Dietary Department located in Higginsville.

GENERAL SUMMARY:This position will be accountable for preparing simple menu items. Will follow specific dietary needs, standard kitchen procedures and sanitation guidelines when handling, preparing and serving food.
RESPONSIBILITES: Serve foods according to menu. Correct portion control and consistency of diet should be followed at all times. Be able to operate equipment safely (dish washing machine, food processor, oven/stove. toaster, slicer, grinder and steam table). Attend work according to facility policies in order to ensure staff coverage. Successfully completes initial and continuing competency training in order that the facility can meet accreditation standards. Responds to and participates in CPR and the training of CPR when needed. Assists in the preparation of meals by measuring ingredients, mixing, boiling, frying and monitoring cooking temperatures. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
QUALIFICATIONS:0-1 year of work experience. (Substitutions may be allowed)
