    Role

    This is a part-time position approximately 27 hours per week.

    Under general supervision, transports and retrieves County vehicles for the purpose of routine maintenance, carpool delivery, and warranty delivery.

    Major Duties, Responsibilities

    • Washes, vacuums, exterior and interior of cars and light trucks.
    • Ensures all County vehicles are cleaned after scheduled maintenance as required.
    • Transports and retrieves vehicles for maintenance, repairs, and loaner use.
    • Tows trailers.
    • Performs parts pickup.
    • Drives to and from Verde Valley shop as well as to and from Phoenix as needed.
    • Performs shop cleanup, inventory of equipment, auction preparations, and other shop related errands.
    • Assists in using dispatching equipment.
    • Answers telephone and takes messages as needed.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:
    A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.

    Additional Requirements:
    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:
    • Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
    • Clerical office practices and procedures.
    • Current Microsoft Office software.
    • Filing and recordkeeping.

    Skill in:
    • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and communicating orally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public and employees.
    • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
    • Organization and adherence to detail.

    Ability to:
    • Organize schedule daily to ensure all timelines are met.
    • Quickly and efficiently clean vehicles when assigned.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
    • Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
    • Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
    • Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
    • Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.

    Work Environment:
    The work environment is associated with indoor and outdoor areas in all weather conditions and includes exposure to the elements and occasional exposure to loud noise, dust, and fumes.

    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to walk, bend, push, and lift up to 30 pounds.
