Administrative Specialists are the first point of contact for walk-in customers. An important part of this role is to create a welcoming, comfortable and inclusive client experience for members of the community. In this role, you will work with a team to greet walk-in customers, help direct people, route paperwork appropriately, and support clients in identifying Human Services and community resources. You will also provide administrative support to internal staff across all four Human Services divisions (Operations Division, Aging and Adult Services Division, Children, Youth, and Family Division, and the Benefits and Community Support Division).

ResponsibilitiesSpecifically, this position:
- Performs customer service duties for the department on a regular basis.
- Conducts necessary research; route inquiries and paperwork appropriately.
- Interprets County/Departmental policies, rules, and regulations in response to inquiries.
- Composes and prepares replies to a variety of communications when information is factual in nature or involves matters of established policies, procedures, or standard practices.
- Schedules work orders, service calls, and other activities for departmental employees.
- Maintains activity and work logs.
- Assists with training of new hires, temporary workers, and other department/division administrative employees.

QualificationsAll candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
Depending on qualifications, this position could hire as Administrative Specialist I or II.
Administrative Specialist I
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.
Administrative Specialist II
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- One (1) year experience as an Administrative Specialist I or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.

The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. This is
not a remote or hybrid position. It is located 100% in the office and could be located at one of the following three locations or be asked to rotate to cover based on staffing needs: 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO; 2555 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, CO; 200 Peridot Avenue, Loveland, CO.
All new employees and rehires will be required to submit fingerprints for a CBI criminal background check (c.r.s. 26-6-104).
All staff working in the Options for Long Term Care Unit, Adult Protection Unit, or Office on Aging will be required to submit information for a Colorado Adult Protective Services data system check (c.r.s. 26-3-1-111).
