This position will be located at the St. Louis Regional Office: 7545 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63125.
- Conduct inspections of permitted scrap tire processing facilities, permitted scrap tire haulers, scrap tire retailers/collection centers, and hazardous waste generators.
- Conduct investigations of hazardous waste generators and improper scrap tire management and disposal.
- Write detailed inspection reports
- Document violations and prepare cases for enforcement action
- Recommend solutions to a range of different environmental problems
- Provide technical assistance to businesses, government officials, and the public
This position is required to obtain and maintain 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary certification.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Physical Science, Geology, Engineering, Agronomy, Forestry, Soil Science, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, or a closely related field from an accredited college, and 0 - 4 or more years of relevant experience.
