    Information Technology Consultant - Career

    *** Temporary Position. Anticipate 1 year appointment with possible extension. ***

    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    Program Development:
    • Design, develop, and maintain online programs, ensuring they meet high standards of instructional integrity and accessibility.
    • Implement and support faculty development efforts focused on online, blended, and technology-enhanced learning experiences.
    • Work closely with academic programs to consult on and develop blended and online learning offerings.
    • Serve as liaison and program strategist when third-party vendors are contracted to augment the on site Teaching and Learning Innovations team.

    Instructional Design:
    • Apply extensive expertise in online design theory and practices to create and facilitate accessible, inclusive, and equity-minded learning experiences.
    • Manage the design, development, and facilitation of courses and resources to support faculty in online and blended teaching.
    • Create and facilitate training workshops, templates, and design guides for faculty and staff.

    Quality Assurance:
    • Develop and manage quality assurance processes, including informal online and mixed-modality course reviews and feedback mechanisms.
    • Ensure all learning design projects adhere to accessibility and quality standards.

    Project Management:
    • Build consensus on learning design decisions with faculty and team members.
    • Facilitate and update course development and programmatic workflows.
    • Maintain project timelines and coordinate efforts between project team roles.
    • Provide project status updates to key stakeholders and partners.

    Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Use institutional data and current scholarly literature to inform program and design decisions.
    • Research emerging technologies and effective practices for online and blended instruction.
    • Gather and analyze data to evaluate the impact of learning design projects on faculty and student success.

    Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with faculty via social media, email, blogs, and video conferencing to develop ideas for blended, online, and technology-enhanced instruction.
    • Work with the Teaching & Learning Innovations team to pilot emerging technologies focused on optimizing the online learning experience.
    • Assess and evaluate learning design programs and represent CSUCI at CSU Chancellor’s Office meetings related to instructional design.

    REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
    • Bachelor’s degree in any academic discipline required. Advanced degree in Education or a related field is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrable expertise in online and blended learning is required.
    • Knowledge of optimizing online learning and a wide range of educational technologies is desirable.
    • Understanding of Learning Management Systems is required.
    • Recent experience in educational technology and blended or online teaching experience is required.
    • Knowledge of Canvas, VoiceThread, and AI tools is a plus.

    Hiring Range: $5,158 - $7,424 per month
