    This position will be located at Lake of the Ozarks State Park, 403 Highway 134, Brumley, MO. Shifts are primarily Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (half hour lunch break). This position will require working occasional weekends, nights, holidays, and special events.

    • Serve as the primary operator for eight public drinking water systems.
    • Serve as the primary operator for the park’s wastewater collection system.
    • Maintain and service public drinking water system equipment including pumps, control panels, storage systems, testing equipment, piping, and valves.
    • Maintain and service wastewater collection equipment including grinder pumps, control panels, air/vacuum releases, force main piping, gravity piping, and manholes.
    • Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
    • Employee will work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries.
    • Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
    • Collaborate and problem-solve with team members and supervisors.
    • Participate in stewardship work to include prescribed fire, invasive/exotic species control, and trail maintenance.
    • Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
    • Operate and maintain lawn mowers, backhoe, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
    • May oversee a seasonal crew engaged in maintenance tasks.


    This position is required to obtain and maintain a public drinking water certification of DS1 and may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate commercial operator’s license, water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.

    • Physical Strength and Agility : Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work.
    • Plumbing and Pipefitting : Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas, chemicals, or sewage.
    • Electrical : Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems, including their design, installation, testing, uses, repair, or maintenance


    Equivalent to those typically gained by:

    • Four to six years of on-the-job training/experience in any of the following trade areas: building, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, or mechanical trades (Education may be substituted for experience.)
