Purchasing Department is recruiting for
Mail Services Manager who will manage the Purchasing Department's Mail and Courier Division operations and staff including responsibility for establishing operating procedures and preparing and monitoring the mail services budget.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Background Investigation: Prior to appointment, candidates must pass a background investigation including a fingerprint check and pass a pre-employment physical including a tuberculosis test.
Physical Requirements: Requires prolonged standing, frequent lifting and carrying of items of 10 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum RequirementsEXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent management experience
in a large volume , mail services or delivery logistics/supply chain operations AND one (1) year of supervisory experience. Supervisory experience may be included in the mail services experience or described separately as obtained through other employment.
(E xperience must be clearly described in the Work Experience section of the Application.) Note: Delivery logistics or supply chain operations in mail services environment is generally equivalent to environments such as Amazon, UPS, FedEx or similar.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will exhibit the following abilities and/or attributes:
- Ability to accurately identify core problems and determine appropriate solutions.
- Organizational skills in order to accurately maintain logs and inventories and determine scheduling priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively train and coach staff.
- Customer service driven and results-focused in order to provide prompt and efficient service; including prioritization of customer services.
- The ability to oversee and implement a data entry process in a computerized database used for billing and mail route management.
- Ambition and passion for growth development.
- Technological proficiency and IT aptitude: Experience in managing digital tools and software, particularly for data entry, mail tracking, and billing systems. Familiarity with database management systems and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize IT processes related to mail services operations.
