Pay Range: $75,314 - $97,908

Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; Some evening/weekend work required. Reporting to Northside Service Center.

A Field Operations Superintendent (Streets) job is available with the City of Fort Worth (TPW / Streets and Stormwater).

The Streets & Stormwater Divisions of the Transportation and Public Works Department are seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Streets Field Operation Superintendent. The Streets Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of street maintenance and construction projects throughout the city.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in construction or a related field. Experience in lieu of education.
  • Five years of increasing responsible experience in building construction and repairs
  • Including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility
  • Valid Class "C" Texas driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Street maintenance techniques related to concrete and asphalt
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising concrete and asphalt operations, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Experience with various types of concrete and asphalt materials, and construction techniques.
  • Knowledge of inclement weather operations and emergency management as it relates to snow, ice, and flood weather events.

The Field Operations Superintendent (Streets) job responsibilities include:
  • Knowledge of City specifications and best maintenance practices as it relate to overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of street maintenance and construction projects
  • Experience working with elected officials, citizens, and executive-level management in issue resolution
  • Experience working with municipal budget management
  • Experience with fleet management
  • Experience ensuring that all street maintenance and construction projects meet the city's standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of work.
  • Experience enforcing and promoting safety protocols and compliance with occupational health and safety standards during all street maintenance activities.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.

Physical Demand

Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
