The Innovation & Technology Department (ITD) is recruiting for highly experienced and motivated Enterprise Systems Engineer (ESE). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance for our database platforms within several enterprise IT teams for various IT projects; assist in the development and implementation of standards and procedures in support of strategic plans; evaluate and make recommendations for improvements or enhancements to the IT architecture while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Candidates must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.

Availability: Incumbents may occasionally work evening and weekend hours. Some overtime, on-call, or call back work may be required.

Minimum Requirements

EXPERIENCE: Four years of full-time equivalent hands-on experience in an enterprise systems management environment architecting, engineering, and integrating solutions into a database platform.

Qualifying experience must include implementation of systems in an enterprise environment with the following technologies:
  • Experience within an enterprise environment including applications, server, and network infrastructures
  • Experience with database technologies such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MariaDB, or DB2/IMS
  • Experience with high availability, such as clustering and Always On

EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college-level courses in programming, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

Substitution: A completed Bachelor's Degree in programming, computer science, software engineering, or related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

Desired Qualifications

Previous experience as a Solution Architect or Systems Engineer supporting enterprise systems is preferred.
