Economic Development Management Analyst III Economic Development Office 12 Months, Full-Time Non-Exempt, Pay Grade 33 Benefits-Eligible, VRS-Eligible Job Summary: The Economic Development Office is hiring a Management Analyst III to support the critical functions of the office. Competency: Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities: Familiar with modern data analysis and visualization strategies and mastery of advanced data analysis and visualization software such as PowerBI, Rstudio, etc. Passion for empowering internal and external peers/clients with their data access needs. Proven track record of designing creative and appealing visuals, reports, and interactive dashboards. Ability to work effectively on multiple priorities with strict deliverable timelines. Experience in data modeling with strong and demonstratable data management skills. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning with a high proficiency in optimization. Advanced computer skills in typical corporate software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent written and communication skills. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment with multiple internal stakeholders (e.g. other divisions and departments). Position Summary The Research Development Officer in the Offices of Research, Innovation and Economic Development (ORIED) works to develop quality and compelling grant proposal narratives to leverage and maximize funding to further faculty- or administrator-led scholarly research, creative, and student support activity on campus. To do so the Officer must possess knowledge of federal, state, and non-profit funding mechanisms and procedures to perform two primary roles. First, for proposal and concept development, the Officer works directly with ORIED staff and faculty researchers or University administrators developing grant and contract proposal narratives including abstract, problem statement, methods, evaluation, outcomes and overall structure. The Officer will primarily focus on proposals that further an institutional or college strategic priority and proposals that are collaborative and/or interdisciplinary in nature. The Officer works with individual faculty and administrators as well as faculty and administrator teams and may be required to lead or take an engaged role in project concept development or at the advanced proposal development level, requiring coordination, program planning, and the weaving together of multiple discipline-based narrative streams into a coherent interdisciplinary argument for funding support. The Principal Energy Analyst plays a central role in managing the District’s energy supply and annual operating budget. This position resides within the District’s Energy Division responsible for BART’s wholesale electric power and retail gas supply, including all aspects of planning, budgeting, procurement and portfolio management. The Principal Energy Analyst directly supports the District’s wholesale electric planning and procurement; performs tasks related to annual budget planning, management, and reconciliation; oversees counterparty performance and obligations under existing commercial agreements; participates in regulatory engagement and rulemaking processes relating to the District’s wholesale electric procurement; produces quantitative analysis to inform wholesale electric planning activities and other energy-related project evaluation; leads the routine processing and reconciliation of invoices supporting Energy Division operations; prepares routine risk management reporting; and may perform other related duties as assigned.
