Performs responsible field and office work supervising and coordinating the collection and transportation of residential and commercial solid waste and recyclable products. Employees assigned to this classification are expected to exercise discretion and initiative and independent judgment in resolving problems encountered in these operations. Work is performed under the supervision of the Collections Manager and performance is reviewed through conferences and results obtained.
High School Graduate plus four 4 years of solid waste experience, two of which to be at a supervisory level; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Commercial "Class B" License with air brakes Preferred .
The Collection Manager certification by Solid Waste Association of North America Certification preferred. Valid Drivers License or CDL must be presented at time of interview IMPORTANT:

Supplemental Information City of Orlando Benefits
If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
