ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to apply for the position of Air Service Development Administrator and lead our Air Service Development Program. This pivotal role focuses on enhancing commercial and charter air service by developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies. As the primary liaison between the Department of Aviation and both domestic and international airline agencies, you will leverage your expertise in marketing, data analysis, and relationship management to communicate with executives and expand air service options. This exempt position requires a strategic thinker who can represent Harry Reid International Airport on the global stage, making an impact through industry, community engagement, and international negotiations. Note: This position is confidential and excluded from membership in the union. Further, this classification is designated exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is therefore, not eligible for overtime.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, aviation management, political science or related field and four years of full-time experience in the aviation industry, preferably in a service area.

Working Conditions: Position requires extensive travel, both national and international, including weekends and night.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.

Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. Note: all prospective hires must present two original government issued ID's upon acceptance of job offer. Examples of acceptable ID's include a Passport, Driver's License or DMV issued ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, Voter Registration card, school issued ID with picture, etc.

Customs and Border Protection Security Seal Program: Employment with the Department of Aviation in this job title is contingent upon a ten year employment and five year residency history record check and the ability to present original identity based documentation in order to meet the requirements for a Security Seal.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Plans, develops and implements a comprehensive airport marketing and air service development program designed to increase commercial and charter air service to and from Las Vegas, both domestic and international. Prepares, coordinates and implements statistical analyses to determine air service deficiencies and opportunities. Prepares materials for briefings made to airlines, communities, and various associations; evaluate and update program as necessary. Monitors all international aviation agreements and keep abreast of foreign and domestic relations by reviewing daily publications and Internet resources. Maintains or directs the maintenance of accurate records and files. Prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, policies, procedures, program documentation and other written materials. Communicates with key airline executives on a daily basis both locally and at the corporate level. Makes personal visits to airline station managers, as well as sales and marketing staff and liaisons with community stakeholders as needed. Represents Harry Reid International Airport at seminars and conferences for air service development. Acts as a liaison for the Department of Aviation with executive staff of domestic and international airline companies. Makes presentations and serves as speaker at local, domestic and international conferences and committees. Communicates Harry Reid International's air service development plan to community groups and business organizations. May serve as a member of the U.S. Delegation for all appropriate aviation bilateral (international) negotiations. May serve as a member of various professional airport groups, including Airports Councils International, U.S. Airports for Better International Air Service, and the American Association of airport Executives. Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; drives a motor vehicle to attend meetings and visit various work sites. Travels to various locations, both nationally and internationally, to market Air Service Programs.
