ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT

Serve foods according to menu. Assure that individuals receive the correct diet that was ordered by the doctor. Correct portion control and consistency of diet should be followed at all times. Implement and carry out general cleaning and sanitation procedures. Be able to push, pull, bend, and stand for extended length of time. Be able to operate equipment safely (dish washing machine, food processor, oven/stove, toaster, slicer, grinder & steam table). Be able to read, write and do math skills at 8 th grade level or above. Attend work according to facility policies in order to ensure staff coverage. Works overtime and on other shifts as directed in order to provide sufficient staff coverage. Successfully completes initial and continuing competency training in order that the facility can meet accreditation standards. Responds to and participates in CPR and the training of CPR when needed. Obtain and attend annual training on Abuse/Neglect. Can lift at least 50 pounds. Possess and maintain a valid driver license.
