Job Summary

Performs technical and supervisory work involved in the maintenance and management of active, inactive, and vital city records retention for the City of Orlando in compliance with the State of Florida Records Schedule. Responsible for designing records management systems, participating in and coordinating the development of records retention schedules, and supervising the storage, retrieval, and destruction of records. Duties include storing, organizing, labeling, updating, scanning, and data entry of information that are in a variety of formats including microform, electronic, historic records, and artifacts (some of which may include sensitive and confidential information) by using record retention systems and warehouse storage. Work is performed independently with general guidelines. Work is reviewed by the Records and Cemetery Manager through observation of results achieved. The employee must be able to lift at least thirty pounds (30 lbs) and safely operate a vehicle and forklift. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field with courses in records management plus three (3) years experience in record and information management with knowledge of computer technology system implementation; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Knowledge of document scanning procedures and microfilm standards required.

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
