This position supports innovative strategies and coordinates with colleges and universities on the oversight and administration of programs that engage traditional and adult learners. The Senior Program Specialist will help facilitate meetings of the Adult Learner Network, manage grant funding to encourage student enrollment and completion, develop innovative educational solutions, and work with institutional partners as needed to ensure that more Missourians successfully earn credentials that will lead to high-demand employment.

  • Manage web-based and in-person meetings of statewide coalitions
  • Develop familiarity with Missouri statutes, rules, and policies to become the subject matter expert for institutions and students
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders - including federal and state regulators, institutional leadership, faculty, and students - to inform statewide student engagement policies, programs, and processes
  • Lead successful project teams, made up of internal and external members, through complete project lifecycle
  • Serve as the point-of-contact for software applications related to student success and engagement
  • Work with minimal direction to review and analyze electronic documents regarding postsecondary education and training, including training guides, course descriptions, outcomes, and syllabi
  • Communicate with stakeholders the requirements and timeline for yearly submission and participation in programs
  • Utilize data to measure student success/outcomes
  • Perform other related work as assigned

  • Meet deadlines and demonstrate regular, reliable attendance


  • Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional experience in student success and engagement, marketing to underrepresented student populations, public administration, education leadership, postsecondary education, or closely related area
  • Preferred experience in the areas of traditional and adult learning
