    Description

    The Identity & Access Management Analyst reviews, designs, documents, implements, and maintains multiple enterprise systems, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), password management, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to ensure the security of county assets. The position is also responsible for cybersecurity projects and issues of high complexity. The Identity & Access Management Analyst is required to provide excellent customer service, resolve problems in a timely manner, communicate effectively, and be a positive contributor to the Denton County Technology Services team.

    Examples of Duties

    • Performs daily administration, configuration, and support of IAM, PAM, and MFA to grant, modify, and revoke access to systems and applications according to predefined security policies. Performs server system administration. Develops SQL queries and IAM automations.
    • Responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of other security solutions to address cybersecurity needs.
    • Develops and configures identity and access management policies and procedures to improve the county's security posture and operational efficiency.
    • Works with departments to design and create role-based access based on job roles. Creates access control lists, RBACS, and permissions based on department needs and least privilege.
    • Conducts regular audits of user accounts and access to ensure the IAM technology and configured controls directly support county, CJIS, PCI, and HIPAA policies and other regulatory requirements.
    • Communicates with customers and stakeholders on the operation of the IAM system, including user provisioning, de-provisioning, integrations, and overall user lifecycle management.
    • Works with the Information Security Team to review and communicate security vulnerabilities and risks to stakeholders and support remediation efforts. Promotes best practice security strategies to mitigate threats.
    • Prepares documentation to ensure the overall delivery of cybersecurity objectives. This includes but is not limited to communication, job aids, training materials, technical reference guides, project plans, policies, and procedures.
    • Works on projects or issues of high complexity as a cybersecurity subject matter expert.
    • Participates in cybersecurity incident investigations and response activities.
    • Follows county policies and best practices related to information security; exercises good judgment to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Denton County computer systems and electronic records; operates as a Denton County cybersecurity champion and promotes a cybersecurity-minded culture; supports compliance with CJIS, HIPAA, and other information security regulations.
    • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
    • Performs other related duties as required.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Associate degree in a related field and a minimum of two years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
    • Bachelor's degree in information technology, information security, or cybersecurity, preferred.Knowledge of common information security management frameworks and standards such as NIST, CJIS, HIPAA, and PCI. Knowledge of information security concepts and controls, computer networking, and TCP/IP addressing preferred.
    • Possession of a valid driver's license required. Must obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment.
    • Must not have any Class B misdemeanor or higher convictions or deferred adjudications.
