Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs exceptional customer service and concierge guidance related to current and historic facts about Loveland and the region to visitors of the center. Includes, clerical, cashiering and merchandising. Flexible and varied schedule between 0-19 hours/week including weekend hours.

The salary range for this position is $16.68- $22.52 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Position will remain open until filled.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Enhances Loveland Visitors Center image through positive, courteous, quality customer service provided to all customers.
  • Assist customers with tourism questions and provides accurate information related to current events withing the community and historic information. Enhancing the guest experience and knowledge.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
  • Registers accurate sales.
  • Prepares daily reconciliation and daily deposit of sales as well as the weekly deposit in an accurate manner ensuring that cash and credit card transactions remain in balance.
  • Stocks, inventories, and sets displays and store merchandise.
  • Processes invoices for payment.
  • Perform managerial opening and closing procedures.
  • Apply database and spreadsheet skills on a daily basis.
  • Provides clerical support such as typing, work processing, filing, report calculation and compilation, and various other duties per request.
  • Orient and support volunteers for success in assisting and working with visitors.
  • Works as a tourism ambassador to inspire travel and build itineraries in and around Loveland to help create a memorable guest experience.
  • Share Loveland’s story, historic, current and vision for the future, with visitors from around the globe.
  • Master local resources for visitors. Provide accurate guidance, resources and information as a regional ambassador.
  • Performs work during special events. Welcome guest, provide event support.
  • Assist with special event preparation and teardown.
  • Works offsite representing the City and region at events thorough the year.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • May be required to cross train in other areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education:
  • High School Graduate or GED.

Required Experience:
  • Two (2) years p revious work experience performing customer service and clerical duties, including high degree of public contact, customer relations in a fast-paced environment, experience with computerized cash register point-of-sale (POS), and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Previous retail merchandising experience, and some training in customer service preferred.

KNOWLEDGE
Complete fee transactions quickly and accurately; prepare daily cash report using math principles. Knowledge of point-of-sale systems. General working knowledge of standard office procedures and methods including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook. Requires typing at a speed that would enable a transaction or project to be completed in a timely manner. Thorough knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar, arithmetic and business English. Communicate effectively with co-workers and the general public, and work efficiently with frequent interruptions. Answer telephones and clearly communicate information. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to deal with customers diplomatically and effectively and demonstrate the skills of good judgment and patience. Operate menu driven computer/cash register system.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent l ight to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools. Frequent exposure to routine office noise and equipment. Occasional moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs) and use of medium weight tools. Occasional exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
