The City of Chandler Fire Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Senior Crisis Interventionist-Opioid Response. This is a full-time, limited duration position with benefits that is grant funded and serves at the pleasure of the Fire Chief.

City charter authorizes the Department to mitigate all hazards, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and crisis intervention. Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to perform the duties of an Opioid Response and Support Interventionist including managing the Opioid Response and Support program, coordinating opioid prevention and response programs, performing client follow-up and community outreach, and providing mobile crisis response services. We are also looking for knowledge in evidence-based substance use treatment models and treatment options to educate and counsel clients.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, Counseling or other related field
  • 2 years of experience in social work, counseling or crisis intervention
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
When assigned as Opioid Response and Support Interventionist:
Versed in a variety of evidence-based substance use treatment models, patterns of substance use, withdrawal symptoms, and knowledge of treatment options to effectively educate and counsel clients.

The position available is a limited duration, full-time position and serves at the pleasure of the Fire Chief. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.

All applicants hired will be required to complete a driver's license check and be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
