Job Description

Introduction

This position is the project manager for Information Technology projects and citywide enterprise system integration activities.

Anticipated starting salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The midpoint of the range is $124,072.00

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited educational institution.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as a project manager in the implementation of IT infrastructure, system integration and/or development projects taking the project from the requirements definition stage through completion.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
    Certifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations certification is preferred.


Essential Functions

Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
  • Works directly with city departments to develop technology project management, budget and schedules for future technology implementations, CIP requests and Council Action Reports.
  • Promotes the use of the city's adopted project management methodology.
  • Ensures that city staff are following IT policies, the city's Administrative Regulations, the city's Financial Policies, and the city's Procurement Code for projects that are being managed by the IT Project Management team.
  • Conducts business analysis, needs assessments and technical requirements.
  • Provides project management expertise in a variety of roles: Project Manager, project manager mentor and/or key project team member for workgroup, departmental, and city-wide projects.
  • Works directly with city departments in technology purchases, RFP development, review of responses and vendor selection.
  • Researches, tests and evaluates new enterprise technology and upgrades of existing technology.
  • Implements the installation and upgrades to the enterprise systems.


Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Most work is performed in a City office environment.
  • Travel to/from meetings at various City locations.
