About the Position:

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is committed to educating students to be culturally, globally, socially, historically, and environmentally astute, civically responsible alumni able to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world. We seek an exceptional individual who is organized, detail-oriented and has excellent analytical skills to join our team as the College Resources Analyst (CRA) (Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Non-Exempt) in the Dean’s office. The ideal candidate for this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Humanities and Social Sciences College Resources Analyst provides support to approximately 11 administrative units and Administrative Support Coordinators (ASC) on operational procedure changes, deadlines, and policies. In consultation with the Associate Dean for Student Relations and Financial Resources Manager, the CRA guides departments regarding course needs, targets, and budget. Serves as the college liaison with the Scheduling Office and directs department Administrative Support Coordinators. Reviews entry of course data, provision of instructional computer lab rooms, and provision of facility space for unhoused classes to the extent possible during the initial schedule build. Coordinates hiring of Unit 11 Academic Student Employees (ASE). In consultation with the Associate Dean for Faculty, plans and executes the faculty workload reports. Provides input to the Associate Dean for Faculty prior to the Associate Dean signing assigned time approvals and reports. Coordinates with department Administrative Support Coordinators to input faculty Term Workload and Faculty Assignment by Department (FAD). Serves as a timekeeping reviewer for Dean’s Office employees and as a backup to the department's timekeepers. Provides backup for department and college staff, including the Faculty Resources Analyst and Dean’s Office front desk. Assists with commencement planning when needed. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs. Working knowledge of the general practices, program or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit or administrative specialty. Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, handle multiple priorities, and organize and plan work assignments. Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of two years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

License/Certifications

A Valid California Driver’s License.
