Salary Range $47,133- $78,627 Commensurate with Experience

The Corrections Identification Supervisor responsibilities and duties will include supervising all staff assigned to the Booking/ID unit. The supervisor will oversee and ensure the accuracy, quality, and reliability of work performed by staff who provide criminal identification and booking services. Other duties include planning, supervising, training, evaluating, organizing, directing, and coordinating the activities of the unit. As well as planning, assigning, and scheduling work and supervising and evaluating the performance of professional staff, as well as implementing disciplinary action. Provides technical review and training, recommends changes in policies and establish procedures for the assigned unit. Enforces and maintains confidentiality, safety, security, and sanitary measures.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Trains, supervises and directs the work of all Booking/Identification Leads and Technicians
assigned to the Booking/Identification Unit.
 Acts as line manager for all staff assigned to the unit; Manages and updates employee’s time
and performance evaluations in the time management system.
 Administrators training instructions and schedules for Booking/Identification Leads to
facilitate.
 Establishes evaluating performance measures, goals, objectives, and priorities.
 Monitors and directs the use of equipment to ensure quality of staff output.
 Acts as a regional program representative to internal and external customers.
 Resolves issues regarding fingerprints, identification, equipment/system maintenance, and
dissemination of criminal history records information.
 Conducts routine compliance audits to ensure unit performance efficiency.
 Manages, maintains, and provides operational and statistical information on productivity,
overtime usage and system efficiency.
 Promotes a culture of innovation, service, and value
 May perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

 Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices including employee development and corrective measures,
mediation, and conflict resolution
 Knowledge of laws, policies and procedures pertaining to law enforcement, corrections, court systems, criminal
records, data retention and privacy, and court admissibility and evidence
 Knowledge of specialized criminal record and identity management databases and systems which may include
AFIS, Livescan, GCIC Certified, TAC, court, and correctional records, and/or state and federal arrest reporting and
warrants systems
 Knowledge of the history, scientific basis and methodology of fingerprint collection and comparison, and their
application to ensure quality and accuracy in identifications
 Skill in managing or delegating projects, handling multiple competing priorities, and working independently within
broad guidelines
 Skill in teambuilding, motivating and coaching staff, and accomplishing work through others
 Skill in analyzing and documenting unit workload and processes, forecasting needs that align with objectives and
providing budget recommendations
 Skill in analytical thinking, planning, problem solving, and decision making
 Skill in communicating professionally and effectively, orally and in writing (in English), with internal and external
customers at varying levels of technical expertise
 Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a large and diverse customer base which
includes criminal justice agency personnel and the public
 Skill in providing instruction and creating technical training materials related to photography, fingerprints, and/or the
criminal identification process
 Skill in interpreting, advising, explaining, and applying pertinent laws, rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines
 Skill in maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of criminal records and evidence, applying disclosure and
retention laws appropriately, and providing information that is appropriate, accurate and reliable
 Skill in using current office software programs including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and schedule
management tools

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).

3 plus years as a Corrections ID Technician or 3 plus years of clerical experience (or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job) is required.

Licensures and Certifications

 Position would be expected to have licensure or professional certifications appropriate to the position.

 Valid Georgia driver’s license Special Requirements GCIC and NCIC certifications within 90 days of employment

Preferred Requirements
1. Associate degree or vocational training and
2. 5 plus years as a Corrections ID Technician or clerical experience, preferably within a
corrections/detention or related environment (equivalent professional experience may be considered for
substitution for the required degree on an exception basis) is preferred.
