The MO HealthNet Division has an opening for a Health Data Quality Analyst within the Data Management Office located in Cole County.

Semi-monthly salary: $3,240.37

Job Location: This position is located at the Howerton State Office Building; 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO.

The Department of Social Services partners with families and communities to protect children, rehabilitate youth and move families to self-sufficiency so that Missourians can lead safe, healthy and productive lives.Why you’ll love this position: The MO HealthNet Division is seeking applications for a Health Quality Analyst (Special Assistant Professional) position within the Data Management Office (DMO) located in Cole County. This is advanced, highly professional, technical and consultative work in the support and coordination of computer information technology services and activities, data analysis, and report generation. The Health Quality Analyst will be responsible for data compilation, data validation, initial analysis, and reporting of findings, in consultation with the Quality Program Manager. These reports will drive programmatic evaluation and design. Work is performed under general supervision; however, the employee is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independence in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

  • Review and evaluate a variety of data; prepare periodic forecasts, analyses, and dashboards in consultation with the Director of Quality Programs.
  • Initiate or respond to requests for statistical and research data, administrative information, report summaries, and other similar information.
  • Develop processes for reporting quality metrics for in-house requests or according to published specifications.
  • Trouble-shoot data anomalies and questionable findings.
  • Consult with program staff and various levels of administration in planning and implementing research and evaluation projects.
  • Perform highly specialized and complex analytical and research studies; prepare detailed reports using tables, charts, and narratives.
  • Analyze sociological, economic, demographic, health and vital statistics, and/or other types of data; assist in selecting methods and techniques to be used in the presentation and interpretation of research findings.
  • Prepare analyses and descriptive texts indicating trends and statistical evaluations of their significance; prepare data, charts, and narrative for publications.
  • Conduct special research studies requiring the application of moderately complex statistical methods to a variety of social and economic data, vital and other health statistics, agency activity reports, etc.
  • Provide technical guidance or supervision to technical and clerical personnel in the collection, analysis, and presentation of statistical material.
  • Program statistical applications using statistical software programs.


Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to think independently and use creative problem-solving strategies is essential.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing to effectively relay business requirements and progress to stakeholders is essential.
  • Ability to self-organize and prioritize work in an ever-changing environment is essential.
  • Experience analyzing large data sets is essential (healthcare claims datasets preferred)
  • Skill with advanced data analysis tools is essential (SQL or similar is preferred)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of procedures and techniques of collecting, organizing, and evaluating simple statistical, healthcare, and financial data is desirable.
