Invites applications for the position of
Storekeeper/Receiving Clerk
(Part-Time, Temporary Position, 1500 hour, PERS Eligible)


Escondido Warehouse is looking for a dynamic individual that enjoys working in a warehouse setting, assisting internal City employees. The Storekeeper/Receiving Clerk assists in the receiving, storage and issuance of a variety of supplies, materials and equipment; maintaining records of items received and issued, making weekly deliveries of inventory items to various City locations and performing general housekeeping duties of the warehouse. This position will work 57 hours biweekly, which includes shifts Monday through Thursday, and every other Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Utilizes on-line inventory system on a daily basis to enter and fulfill orders for counter

customers, and maintains a variety of inventory and warehouse records.
· Re-stock and face inventory in the warehouse.
· Fill orders for weekly delivery to various departments.
· Receives, inspects for damages, and verifies delivery of stock items against quantities

ordered of various inventory items on a daily basis.
· Restocks items received in proper storage locations and rotates stock.
· Performs housekeeping duties including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, and removal

of trash.
· Operates standard office equipment including computer, copier, printer, and adding

machine.
· Operates electric and manual pallet jack.
· Operates electric and gas forklifts.
· All other duties as assigned.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION WILL:
· Have knowledge and experience of warehouse operations and methods, including

shipping and receiving.
· Have knowledge of warehouse safety principles and practices.
· Have knowledge and experience working with various computer software programs.
· Have knowledge and experience working on a forklift (preferred).
· Be able to follow established clerical procedures and learn/follow specific operations

of the warehouse.
· Be energetic, self-motivated, and team orientated.
· Have strong customer service skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 18 years of age at the time of employment
  • Current valid CA driver's license
  • High School diploma and/or equivalent
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 90 pounds.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
Applications will be screened and the most qualified candidates will be invited to appear for testing. All positions require the ability to read, write and speak English. Types of tests may include written and/or oral examination, physical agility, practical exam or other appropriate job-related selection process. When testing is completed, candidates will be ranked on an eligibility list in the order of their test score. Selection for appointments is made from names certified on the eligibility list.
All appointments are subject to the successful completion of background investigation including LIVESCAN fingerprinting, and will be required to submit verification of the legal right to work in the United States. Qualification by a medical examination will be required at the time of appointment. After appointment, classified employees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period to be eligible for regular status. In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, all new employees must produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States within the first three days of their employment. The Loyalty Oath will be administered to all new employees on their first day of hire. New employees hired into positions that require a driver's license must provide proof of a valid California Driver's License of the appropriate class level on their first day of employment.
