Parks & Recreation Park Rangers Posting Expires: September 3, 2024 Salary Range: $49,000 - $52,000/annually Overview: The City of Atlanta is seeking an experienced and capable individual to lead as a Park Ranger Supervisor within the Park Ranger Division. The Park Ranger Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Park Ranger Officers, ensuring park safety, compliance, and visitor satisfaction.
Responsibilities: - Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to a team of Park Ranger Officers to achieve department goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement patrol schedules, duty assignments, and training programs for Park Ranger Officers.
- Coordinate with park management, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to address park-related issues and initiatives.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and enforce disciplinary actions as needed.
- Collaborate with city officials, community groups, and partners to promote park safety, conservation, and recreational opportunities.
- Monitor park activities, incidents, and visitor feedback to identify trends, areas for improvement, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to park operations, incidents, and personnel management.
Position Knowledge: Limited knowledge of the City of Atlanta organizational policies and procedures.
Skills :

Position Requirements: - High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in park management, law enforcement, security, or supervisory role preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to make informed decisions, prioritize tasks, and manage conflicts effectively
- Knowledge of park regulations, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures
- Proficiency in computer applications and record-keeping systems
- Proof of physical and psychological fitness from a medically certified physician.
- Have a valid Driver’s License
- Pass a Criminal background check.
- Available to work different shifts.
