The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months and may be used to fill other vacant positions including Administrative Analyst, and Administrative Services Assistant II.

Minimum Qualifications

License Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator's license will be accepted during the application process.

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, public administration or a closely related field.

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience or its equivalent in an administrative staff position performing administrative, budgetary or personnel analysis .

Substitution for Education: Successful completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university which included at least one three semester unit course in each of the following areas: (1) English Composition (2) Business or public administration, political science or government (3) Mathematics or Statistics and (4) Psychology or behavioral science; and two years full time experience or its equivalent in an administrative or staff capacity performing administrative, personnel or budgetary analysis which included the research, analysis and preparation of written reports; or an acceptable combination of qualifying experience beyond the two-year minimum education requirement may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

Substitution for Academic Major and Experience: 1) One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may be substituted for the required academic required major; 2) Possession of a Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field may be substituted for the academic major or six months of the required experience.

Selection Process

Application Filing and Evaluation: Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process. Online Skills Assessment: Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to take the online multiple-choice skills assessment. The assessment will measure candidates' competencies that may include but are not limited to Attention to Detail and Professional & Technical Expertise. The assessment will be administered remotely using a computer. You will need access to a reliable internet connection to take the assessment. It is not recommended to take the assessment using a cell phone. (Weighted 100%) Tentative Online Skills Assessment: 9/4 - 9/8/2024Final Selection Interviews: These will be scheduled by the department once the eligible list is established. If you apply for another recruitment that uses this exam and the test is scheduled within six (6) months of the date you took the test this time, you will not have the option to re-take the exam. If more than six (6) months has passed you will need to retake the exam.

The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
