Monday through Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Anticipated Hiring Range

$4,283 per month - $4,712 per month ($51,396 - $56,544 annual)

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary

The Account and Data Support Coordinator is responsible for analyzing the housing residents’ computerized account records and ensuring consistency between StaRez, the student housing occupancy system and Campus Solutions (CS), the University student accounts receivables subledger. The Account and Data Support Coordinator will address residents’ concerns regarding balances on the student accounts and monitor the Student Financials email account. The incumbent will process online, check and other types of payments.

Position Information

Reconciliation and Analysis of Accounts
  • Analyze housing resident accounts, provide research, and process adjustments independently;
  • Process payments and prepare daily bank deposits;
  • Assist in the daily closing of the payment batches for depositing into University’s bank account;
  • Prepare student delinquent account reports, charges and payments reports for the student meal plans and bed space installments charges, and ad hoc reports on as needed basis.

Customer Service
  • Provide customer service to the students, residents of the Employee & Family Housing, and campus community;
  • Assist the students and their guardians in inquiries regarding account charges, payments and adjustments;
  • Monitor HDCS Financial Services e-mail and respond to students’ requests;
  • Administer financial hold lifts on student accounts.

Administrative and Financial Reporting
  • Generate financial reports; prepare charges and payments summary reports;
  • Prepare the student resident accounts document packages for submitting to the CSU Legal counsel for review;
  • Serve as a backup to the Business Analyst for the student refunds processing;
  • Participate in the collection of past due amounts procedures.

System and Audit Support
  • Reconcile student accounts adjustments in StarRez, CS and General Ledger to make sure the systems have the same balances;
  • Assist the Bursar’s Office with addition of new item types. Maintain existing item types in the CS system;
  • Prepare reconciliations and reports per the auditors’ request.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of financial record-keeping, mathematical and general office methods, procedures, and practices.

Abilities:
In addition to the Accounting Technician I abilities, must be able to apply accounting procedures and practices to the analysis of basic accounting problems; analyze and interpret accounting data; apply problem solving techniques in finding solutions to basic accounting problems; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; use current computer word processing and spreadsheet software programs, web browsers, query tools, integrated financial systems and/or other types of records management systems, such as student accounting, cashiering and student financial aid; work independently; and make sound decisions and recommendations regarding accounting activities.

Experience:
Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience which has provided the above knowledge and abilities.

Education:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.
  • One (1) years of experience in accounts reconciliations and systems maintenance.
  • Experience using MS Office software and ERPs.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills as well as excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of general acceptable accounting principles.
  • Ability to provide orientation support to colleagues.

  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting with varying levels of noise; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to verbally communicate to exchange information, and to occasionally travel to other office or locations to attend meetings or to pick up or deliver materials.
