    Full-time position available with the Health Department, Communicable Disease Prevention Division located at 2400 Troost Ave
    Salary Range: $32.38-$48.56/hour
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervises nursing staff and oversees clinic operations in the Sexual Health Clinic.
    • Performs work directed towards the goals of risk assessment, risk reduction, and optimal sexual health status for individuals served by the Sexual Health Clinic.
    • Works with Disease Intervention Specialists to facilitate and navigate referrals and provide case management for individuals with high-risk behavior.
    • Represents the department as a designated specialist or spokesperson for area of assignment in a wide range of contacts.
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with individuals in other department programs, state and local agencies and the community.
    • Works in diverse environments.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES completion of an ADN or diploma program in nursing and 2 years of experience as a registered nurse; OR registration or certification as a nurse practitioner or nurse clinician from a program recognized by the Missouri State Board of Nursing. Possession of a current license or temporary permit (for transfers from other states) as a registered nurse as issued by the Missouri Board of Nursing. A current license must be obtained by transfers within six months of the date of the permit issuance. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen prescribed by the City. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Preference given to those bilingual in English/Spanish.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
