The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for an Associate Chief Nursing Officer who assists with the direction, planning, organization, coordination of in-patient nursing services and related service programs at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Through subordinate managers and supervisors, the position oversees the operations of the Nursing Service and service lines directing budget preparation; developing and maintaining standards of nursing practice, policy and procedure; ensuring regulatory compliance; and acting as the Chief Nursing Officer during absences.

The County offers a generous benefit package which includes a competitive salary commensurate with experience within the designated salary range of 86C: $144,144.00 - $206,835.20 Annually , plus 3% annual across the board salary increases on February 2025 and 2026. ( Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Realignment Sales Tax Collections performance.)

Our generous alternative Modified Benefits Option provides a wage differential of4% above the base salarywith a complementing modified leaves package and benefits, including the use of increased pay rate to calculate County contributions to RMT, 401(k), and 457(b) plans, leaves cash outs, and retirement contribution rates.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Incumbents must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, work history and education verification, as well as a job-related physical exam and drug screening.

Availability: Twenty-four (24) hour responsibility and on-call availability is required.

Travel: Travel throughout the State and County may be required. Incumbent will be required to make provisions for such transportation. At the time of hire a valid California class C driver license and proof of liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess ALL of the following:

License: Must possess and maintain licensure as a Registered Nurse with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Experience: Three (3) years of senior management experience in an acute care hospital.

Substitution: A Master's Degree in Nursing may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience.

The ideal candidate will be a progressive, results-oriented nurse leader, who is a strategic planner with a demonstrated record of achievement in the administration of the nursing services in a large teaching acute care hospital. This candidate will also have the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, provide excellent customer service, problem-solve and establish the standards of nursing and patient care services to achieve excellence in patient satisfaction and quality of care. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be financially savvy, possess the flexibility to adapt and lead through change, as well as embrace and implement new ideas. The candidate will be knowledgeable in a wide range of nursing practice issues including the laws and regulations governing standards of patient care.
