Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,269 - $4,333 per month

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, unless notified otherwise

THE DEPARTMENT

The College of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS) is a learning community of students, scholars, and professionals who are dedicated to the advancement and development of knowledges, interdisciplinary and student-centered education, equity, and community engagement. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CEIS Triage and Advising
  • Provide academic coaching support to CEIS students, particularly those in the ITEP program .
  • Triage student support when they come to the CEIS advising center for drop-in support.
  • Assist students in making appointments with their academic advisors if the student requires academic advising.
  • Provide timely and focused support to students to ensure they understand how to use their registration tools.
  • Educate students on key advising related tools such as curriculum sheets, roadmaps, academic planner, schedule builder, university catalog, and common petitions.
  • Offer one-on-one and group support to introduce and reinforce the use of these tools in preparation for students academic advising appointments.
  • Connect students with key campus resources to ensure they are able to stay on track for their academic goals.
  • Resources include Learning Resource Center, Care Center, and Counseling and Psychological Services among others.
  • Engage in proactive outreach to students in the ITEP program to ensure that they are aware of the requirements and next steps for their program.
  • Partner with faculty and academic advisors to offer workshops and information sessions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of academic, admission, and registration policies and procedures.
  • Be prepared and able to serve students in various modalities.
  • Be able to work in a hybrid environment, align with the CPP Telecommuting Program principles and practices, and the specific Academic Affairs standards of excellence and divisional values.

CEIS Teacher Candidate Support
  • Provide support to teacher candidates with Go-React and Sharepoint for TPA (Teaching Performance Assessment) submissions:
    • Help with account set-up and management, storage management, and uploading.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with faculty and supervisors with GoReact and Sharepoint.
    • Set up, manage, and coordinate clinical practice evidence (online and in-person observation).
  • Collect, organize, upload, and manage information for accreditation website.
  • Assist Teacher Preparation and Recruitment Advisor with holding and facilitating regular Orientation Sessions for prospective students.

Operations Support for CEIS Student Success Center
  • Working with the lead for the office, Associate Dean for the College, and Directors of Student Success and Advising:
    • Support the Student Success and operations of Retention Coordinator in the coordination of the day-to-day the advising center Support the Student Success and Retention Coordinator to coordinate workflow and daily operations for advising center and staff to ensure adequate coverage and service to students, families and staff Assist the Student Success and Retention Coordinator with the implementation of advising center activities.
    • Schedule rooms and order catering, assist with photocopying and marketing, assist with documentation for payments and purchases.
  • In partnership with the Student Success and Retention Coordinator, develop a schedule for student staff coverage that supports the operational needs of the advising center.
  • Documentation and Reporting Provide robust documentation of advising interactions, interventions, and programming via CPP Connect and other available tools.
  • Summarize all information in annual reports and provide data-informed recommendations for improvements.
  • Utilize reporting tools such as CPP Connect (EAB), DataWarehouse, and Tableau to identify students in need of support and track progress toward improving their academic outcomes.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Combination equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level. Equivalent amounts of graduate level job-related education may be substituted for the required experience.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Working knowledge of the practices, procedures and activities of the programs.
  • Ability to collect, compile, analyze and evaluate data and make verbal or written presentations based on these data.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex policies and procedures to students, parents and faculty members in a highly professional manner.
  • Master's degree.
  • Familiarity with the CSU system.
  • Experience in higher education in student services.
  • Experience in academic and/or career advising.
  • Experience in teaching in California (i.e. credential system).

CSU Classification Salary Range

This position is part of the Academic Professionals of California (APC) bargaining unit 4, the CSU Classification Standards for this position are located on the following site, https://www.calstate.edu/csu-system/careers/compensation/Pages/Classification-Standards.aspx . The CSU Salary Schedule is located on the following site: https://www.calstate.edu/csu-system/careers/compensation/Pages/salary-schedule-documents.aspx . The classification salary range for this position according to the respective skill level is minimum $4,269 maximum $6,040 per month. Please refer to the anticipated hiring range for the appropriate salary rate for this particular position.
