About the Position:

The Student Health and Counseling Center strives to support students in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals. Maintaining an optimal level of wellness is crucial for living a higher quality life and reaching your highest potential. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Pharmacist I. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Provides pharmaceutical services for patient population within TitanHEALTH, which includes consulting with the prescriber and patient; identifying, evaluating, and interpreting prescriptions; acquiring, compounding and dispensing medications, vaccines, and other therapeutic agents; and ensuring pharmacy programs and operations and the delivery of pharmacy services are compliant with established professional standards and applicable federal and state regulations. Serves as a resource to TitanHEALTH providers for any questions regarding the pharmaceutical aspects of medications. Serves as the back up to the Pharmacist-in-Charge, as defined and required by the California State Board of Pharmacy.

Ensure proper maintenance of detailed prescription records and inventory records on drugs, narcotics, and poisons. Prepare and file necessary reports, as required by the university and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Ensure pharmacy operations and programs, as well as services delivered, are in compliance with professional standards and applicable federal and state regulations. Other duties assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Requires a valid license as a pharmacist in the State of California. A minimum of one year of Pharmacist experience. Experience in the utilization of pharmacy computer software programs and a third-party billing electronic program. Graduation from a recognized and accredited college of pharmacy program as defined by the California Board of Pharmacy is required. In addition, must be able to demonstrate sufficient experience and competency as a licensed pharmacist to work independently, and if assigned, assume administrative responsibilities within the health center pharmacy.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) college of pharmacy program or other program recognized by the board as defined by the California State Board of Pharmacy. Experience working in college or university health center.

License/Certifications

Must possess and maintain a valid pharmacist license as defined and required by the California State Board of Pharmacy. A Valid California Driver License.
