The Athletics Department at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a Head Women’s Tennis Coach position in Athletics with an appointment to begin Summer 2024.

Position

The Women’s Tennis program at California State University, Fullerton is a highly competitive program which competes in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference. The Head Women’s Tennis Coach reports directly to the Athletic Director and they manage all aspects of the Tennis program in addition to the following duties:
  • Coaching a highly competitive women’s tennis program which competes in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference
  • Recruit Division I quality student-athletes
  • Monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes
  • Lead, monitor, and coordinate training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained
  • Know and abide by NCAA, University, and Big West rules and regulations
  • Manage all aspects of travel coordination, scheduling, and practice planning
  • Scout and conduct statistical analysis of recruits and opponents
  • Work closely with Athletics administration and staff in regards to women’s tennis program responsibilities and policy compliance
  • Take an active role in marketing women’s tennis on campus and within the community through public appearances, fundraising and promotional efforts
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience coaching at the collegiate and/or professional level
  • Proven ability to recruit highly skilled student-athletes and a demonstrated commitment to their satisfactory academic progress
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA Division I rules and regulations
  • Ability to interact successfully with a wide and culturally diverse range of students and to work harmoniously with students and colleagues
  • Demonstrated competitive on-court coaching ability and skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • NCAA Division I tennis coaching experience and knowledge of various scouting and video editing software systems for tennis.

The College and Department

This position is housed in the Athletics Department under the Division of Student Affairs. The classification for this position is Coaching Specialist and is in the faculty bargaining unit. This is a 12-month, full time position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation

The Coaching Specialist classification salary range is $6,227-$11,088 monthly (12 monthly payments). The anticipated hiring range is $7,709-$7,860 per month.

Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work ( https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/california_equal_pay_act.htm).
