Job Description

Job Location: This position will be located at 920 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City, MO, in the Division of Regulation and Licensure. Working hours are predominantly Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., but a different daytime schedule may be considered. Work outside of normal working hours may be required.

The Senior Regulatory Auditor regulates and audits registered supplemental staffing agencies. The successful candidate will be a part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment and will assist the Division with developing and continuously improving the new regulatory program. The Senior Regulatory Auditor is responsible for ensuring registrants are in compliance with Missouri Law and program rules by reviewing registrant information, conducting in-depth personnel documentation reviews, and complaint investigations. The position offers the opportunity to work independently, but as a member of a cohesive team. Successful auditors are self-motivated, detail oriented and work with minimal supervision. This position will be located at 920 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City MO 65109, with the eventual possibility (following a successful training & orientation period) to transition to a hybrid working arrangement.

  • Works with team supervisor to develop, communicate, and implement guidance documents and procedures to assist registrants in compliance with the Missouri Laws and program rules.
  • Schedules and conducts annual inspections for new and renewal supplemental staffing agency registrants.
  • Conducts in-depth audits and reviews of registrant documents, including personnel files, background screenings, time records reflecting work performed by each personnel, written employment contracts between an agency and each personnel, contracts between an agency and health care facility, financial reports, medical malpractice or professional liability insurance and workers compensation.
  • Recommends, issues and follow-ups with notices of violation and other regulatory compliance tools, including identifying necessary remediation steps that ensures future compliance. Participate in and/or conduct meetings with agency.
  • Provides education to registrants on compliance requirements and changes.
  • Responds to inquiries from registrants regarding compliance issues.
  • Conducts assigned investigations; locating, interviewing, and preparing statements, collecting and evaluating pertinent records; obtaining and preparing evidence; preparing detailed investigative reports; facility visits and providing testimony in administrative proceedings.
  • Exercises considerable independence and initiative in the performance of responsibilities; receiving general administrative direction.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of each assigned registration and inform leadership of important information and provide recommendations based on law, rules and department procedures.
  • Maintains information in established systems that is required for compliance purposes on a daily basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant experience. (Additional qualifying experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required college education.)
  • Regulatory compliance, investigations, and/or audit experience is highly preferred.
  • A high level of initiative and problem solving skills in areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to develop effective solutions and strategies.
  • Ability to mine data systems and use the data for the purposes of compliance and investigative needs.
  • Ability to organize and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to adapt to constant program development, change and improvement.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills and find solutions to new situations on a regular basis.
