We are looking for a highly motivated partner that will be responsible for managing, planning, and providing strategic leadership for the Department of Public Works (DPW) sustainability initiatives. This includes the department’s deactivated landfills, solid waste programs, green building initiatives and the city’s implementation of electric vehicles (EVs) and other alternative fuel vehicles.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Extensive knowledge of all areas of environmental science and sustainability measures.
- Knowledge of Green Building requirements for construction and renovation projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and proactively identify opportunities for deeper sustainability integration.
- Ability to create a positive image to the public relative to City environmental initiatives.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills to varying groups of individuals.
- Ability to analyze and understand research and to identify relevant and valuable information.
Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Material Science, or related fields, and 5 years of experience in sustainability planning and/or project management.
