Job Description

Job Summary

Greenville's Recreation and Parks Department is currently recruiting Pickleball Instructors to teach youth and adult pickleball classes and private lessons.

Minimum Age: 21 years old, at the time of application
Instruction Hours: Monday through Thursday, Mornings/Afternoons/Evening hours based on class offerings beginning in September.

Requirements:
  • 2 or more years of experience working as a pickleball coach or instructor;
  • CPR and First Aid certifications or must obtain within the first 60 days of hire;
  • Certification through the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) or Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) is preferred.

Examples of Duties

  • Assist students in developing and improving various pickleball skills.
  • Assess students’ pickleball skills.
  • Develop suitable training programs for students based on their age, objectives, and individual skill sets.
  • Develop innovative ways to assist students in learning and remembering the rules of the game.
  • Identify learning styles that work best for each student and adapt coaching methods accordingly.
  • Provide a secure and productive learning environment for students.
  • Communicate effectively with students to discuss their progress.
  • Coordinate and carry out class lessons.


Regular part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees are not eligible for benefits.
