Job Summary

Starting Salary:

Signal Construction Tech I: $18.58 to $23.69hourly
Signal Construction Tech II: $19.70 to $25.11hourly

Job Description:

Performs skilled journey level work in the installation and maintenance of traffic signal equipment (including school and fire warning signals.), overhead traffic signing, overhead internally lighted street name signs, and computerized signal system communication cable. Work may involve lead responsibility for the application of electrical/electronic traffic signal controls. Required to stand duty at night and weekends on a rotating basis. Assist contractors with house moves and other contractors with moving oversized loads through City streets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Signal Construction Tech I : High school graduate plus six (6) months experience in various phases of traffic signal control equipment installation or commercial electrical work required . Traffic Signal Level I certification preferred. Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or higher L icense r equired within 12 months of hire.

Signal Construction Tech II : High school graduate plus three (3) years experience specifically installing traffic signal control equipment required . IMSA Traffic Signal Level I certification required ; IMSA Traffic Signal Level II Field Technician certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire date. Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or higher required .
