PLEASE NOTE: The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $3,505.00 per month to $3,800.00 per month.

About the Position

This is a full-time, temporary position through January 17, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment.

Incumbents at this level work under general supervision and perform the most complex, technical and/or specialized work requiring extensive reprographics experience, advanced knowledge, and expertise.

Work requires a broad and specialized knowledge base within reprographics, printing, and copying. A thorough knowledge of computer and digital systems, as well as equipment used in printing and copying is required. Incumbents may be responsible for coordinating the work within one or more functional areas within the Print Shop, including providing lead work direction to other print shop staff and student assistants. This role will also provide continual data analytics to the Director in order to maintain and/or improve services and pricing within the area.

Responsibilities

Manage Business Services:
  • Provide consultation and recommendation for all equipment in the Print Shop.
  • Support and manage systems that facilitate the input and output of print/copy jobs that enter into the Print Shop area.
  • Service equipment or systems quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption.
  • Provide usage and other data reports to management.
  • Provide guidance on vendor relationships where needed.

Printing/Duplicating Administrator:
  • Service and monitor all Print Shop hardware.
  • Troubleshoot networks, card readers, and printing devices.
  • Create and maintain accounts for users as needed.
  • Manage program activities on server, alerts, printer queues, job releases and release station connectivity.

Data Analytics and Operation Support:
  • Provide feedback into analytical data feeding into the Print Shop.
  • Provide input as to rate pricing.
  • Analyze equipment usage and statistics to ensure optimal performance.
  • Observe data patterns and offer input for improvement as needed.

Information Technology Assistance:
  • Manage Cal State East Bay's service desk ticket requests for the Digital Printers and Copier Services group as well as any print related inquiries.
  • Configure systems to optimize operations, meet connectivity needs and future expansion requirements.
  • Provide multiple pathways for customers to assist them with print, copy, duplicating, and digital signature solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of a high school education or equivalent certification plus one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of reprographics operations and functions.
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the position.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with large format duplicating equipment.
  • Working knowledge of equipment that pertains to printing, duplicating, and post-print production work such as but not limited to: cutting, binding, and lamination.
  • Experience working with enterprise-wide printers.
  • Experience supporting printers in an environment of greater than 500 customers.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge
  • Demonstrated prior experience working with enterprise-wide printing equipment.
