Located midway between San Francisco and San José, the Town of Woodside (pop. 5,128) is known as one of the most beautiful communities in California. The Public Works Director/Town Engineer reports to the Town Manager and oversees a team of 8 staff members with a $3.45 million annual operating and $2.46 million CIP budget.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected, customer-oriented team. The Town is seeking a candidate with wide-ranging public works knowledge who is well prepared to oversee the Town’s roads and bridges, facilities, sewer, parks, and trails maintenance functions, in addition to its CIP program. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a small-town environment.
A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline plus at least ten years professional experience required, with three or more years of supervisory/administrative experience. Master’s degree desirable. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California required at the time of hire.
