Finance Director - West Fargo, ND

West Fargo, North Dakota, with an estimated population of 42,531, is a rapidly growing city in the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area. Reporting to the Senior Director of Administrative Services, the Finance Director is responsible for the management of accounting, debt/treasury management, special assessments, utility billing, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and investments of the City. This individual also provides management, leadership, and coordination over all areas of fiscal operations, forecasting, and analysis for the City. The position supervises the Senior Accountant and Utility Billing Supervisor in a department of seven.

The starting salary range for this position is $124,768 - $153,124. Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with five years of experience in local government financial management, payroll, and supervisory roles. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates holding a master’s degree, Certified Public Finance Officer, or Certified Public Accountant designation. The selected candidate must obtain certifications in FEMA’s NIMS 700 & 800, ICS 100, 200, 300, 400 within one year of hire.
