Beckley is seeking a dynamic City Manager to serve as the chief executive officer of the City government, responsible for the overall management, administration, and leadership of municipal operations. This pivotal role demands exceptional strategic thinking, robust managerial skills, and outstanding communication abilities. The City Manager will collaborate closely with the City Council and other elected officials, department heads, and community stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of public services, the successful implementation of policies and initiatives, and the continuous well-being and advancement of the City.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, urban planning, or a related field, and progressively responsible experience in municipal or city government, preferably in a leadership role, with a proven track record of successful administration and implementation of policies and programs. Additionally, the incumbent will possess experience working effectively with elected officials, diverse communities, and multi-disciplinary teams. Residency within Raleigh County is required within one year of hire date. City residency is preferred. Relocation expenses can be negotiated.

The starting salary range for the City Manager position is $100,000 - $140,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
