(Job #535655) Administrator I, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, Salary Range: $4,812 - $15,449 monthly. This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, 12-month pay plan permanent position in University Advancement. This position is an Administrator I in the California State University Management Personnel Plan (MPP). Under this plan, incumbents are subject to normal management reviews and serve at the pleasure of the University President. Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for leading outreach and engagement for the department. Working with department and divisional colleagues, this position engages with the many constituents of Forever Humboldt - alumni, donors, staff, faculty, students, families, and community members. This position’s priority is to create and facilitate local and regional engagement programs that help build a stronger connection to the university and cultivate pride for Cal Poly Humboldt.

Key Responsibilities:

Engagement - 35%

Create and execute engagement programming, including but not limited to, overseeing use of the mobile alumni center to further the university’s goals and priorities. This programming may happen locally, regionally, and sometimes at night or on the weekends.

Administrative - 30%

Track and report on success of engagement efforts.

Maintain fiscal responsibility when planning engagement opportunities. Oversee and maintain the inventory of promotional items for all alumni relations programming and partner use, ensuring stock is on hand. Ensure the brand image of the university is consistent.

Promotion and Communication - 30%

Widely market and promote the programs of the department using a variety of strategies aiming to reach a wide breadth of constituents on and off campus. Utilize a wide range of verbal, written, and digital communications approaches.

Maintain an annual calendar of advancement engagement opportunities and collaborate with partners across campus to make them meaningful.

Other Duties as Assigned - 5%

Minimum Qualifications:
Five years of experience in a professional position with responsibility for constituent outreach, marketing, or similar; at least two years direct experience in alumni & engagement programming. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited university. Valid CA Class C driver’s license and willingness to drive the mid-size RV that serves as the mobile alumni center, sometimes on multi-day trips.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in higher education. Experience working in alumni relations or other affinity-driven organization. Experience in a four-year, baccalaureate-granting university. Master's degree. Experience developing programs or communications designed to build affinity with an organization
