Salary Range: $6,489-$9,734/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Supports 24/7 cyber security monitoring and mitigation functions.
- Helps protect the city from cyber-attacks and other Information Technology security concerns.
- Performs highly skilled cyber security position that focuses on cyber security planning, oversight, administration, and maintenance of the city's highly complex enterprise-wide cyber security environments.
- Handles 24-hour, 7 day a week oversight and response to cyber security incidents and the mitigation of infected or threatened city information systems and networks.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for city-wide cyber security systems management who provides expert level analysis and technical guidance when it comes to cyber security protection and processes.
- Provides the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with analysis and recommendations for new cyber security hardware and software system requirements.
- Performs product evaluations and testing of hardware/software for cybersecurity improvements, feasibility, or applicability to existing products with an emphasis on intrusion detection, incident management systems and Firewalls.
- Provides cross training and support of cyber security products installed on the network systems to meet divisional standards.
- Assures accountability of cybersecurity best practices, reporting tools, and maintenance of systems.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 5 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and technology experience.
Preference given to those with prior experience with DNS/DHCP, networking and routing, Microsoft Azura/Entra_ID, Firewall administration/deployment, software deployment, user account management, administration of Zero Trust Networks, or administration of end-point security. Other Information

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
