The City of Fresno is recruiting for a Limited Division Manager who will be responsible for managing and supervising temporary staff/interns for special seasonal projects and assignments.
In this capacity, the Limited Division Manager will be responsible for, coordinating, administering, evaluating processes, procedures, systems, and standards and supervising the work of interns; select, hire, coach, and counsel staff and makes other personnel decisions; prepares and delivers performance measures; develop and coordinate work plans; participating in the development of goals and objectives; prioritizing and assigning work; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.
The incumbent will work with internal and external stakeholders within area of responsibility to carry out initiatives. May transport interns to and from internship worksite and events as needed. Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and in the outdoors.
This assignment is expected to last up to six (6) months but may be extended upon approval by the City Manager. Acceptance by the candidate and appointment to this limited assignment is in no way a guarantee of permanent employment. The selected incumbent will receive benefits as afforded to Unit 14 employee's but will not participate in the City's Retirement Plan.
This is an unclassified position in which the incumbent serves at the will of the Department Director.
The Requirements
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to qualify for further consideration:
Bachelor's Degree in a field directly related to technical discipline and four years of directly related experience including two years of supervisory experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two years.
Professional experience working with underserved youth or managing similar programs is highly desirable for this position.
Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and in the outdoors.
Possession of a valid California driver's license is required at the time of appointment. Candidates considered for hire must provide proof of a valid driver's license and current copy of their driving record.

The selected eligible candidates certified will be required to successfully pass a Department interview and a Department of Justice fingerprint prior to employment with the City of Fresno.
